Sounds Good   Practical   My Truth

TAKE 3: My Truth
So, what do I really believe? I believe in open marriages. If a couple wants to commit to a long-term relationship, they should be able to choose whether its monogamous or whatever. A couple should decide together whether or not to include other people in the relationship and agree whether each can pursue others on their own or do they need to do it as a couple. We've been duped for too long that marriage is a sacrament that makes sex holy and that sex without love and marriage makes us evil. We've also been duped into believing that it is what we are supposed to do and that there is no respectable alternative. I totally disagree. Let's think for ourselves and decide what is best for us instead of blindly listening to others who don't have our best interests in mind. I'll admit that a committed love relationship is like no other, but a couple should decide what form it takes for themselves - whether it be monogamous, heterosexual, homosexual, or open. Children complicate the issue, but when people are given the right and freedom to make up their own mind, I trust that they will make the right decision.
